Emirates airline donates 4 tickets for our Sri Lanka project

The Emirates Airlines has donated 4, and maybe 8 tickets a year, for BFIRST to go to Sri Lanka and for Fellows from Sri Lanka to visit the UK. This is going to free up considerable monies, which we can use to buy essential equipment, so it is a most welcome gift.

At the moment our next trip involves a Consultant Interventional Radiologist, because local surgeon Dr Romesh Gunasekera, from the Ridgeway Hospital has specifically asked for training in vascular malformations, which is approached in a combined effort between interventional radiology and plastic surgery. Bran Sivakumar will be returning , and he will also be bringing a hand therapist to take on the vital post-operative treatment of the paediatric patients, with congenital hand problems, and Neil Bulstrode, also from the Great Ormond Hospital plastic surgery unit, who deals with vascular malformations as a plastic surgeon.
